Child in a grown-up world

I see your tears,
Your open mouth,
Full of misunderstanding,
Of the grown-up world.

I hear your scream,
For childish needs,
For a bit of freedom,
Of the grown-up world.

I see your fragility,
Your ache for maturity,
Of a six year old,
To the grown-up world.

I feel the love,
In my heart for you,
Speaking in my language,
Of the grown-up world.

I feel your need,
Your need to grow,
Which contain the demands,
Of my grown-up world.

I see my child,
The beauty of you,
The innocence of a child,
In the grown-up world…
